NEW PRODUCT LAUNCHES
Applitec ISO-Line Cermet & JET-Line - ISO
An Important addition to the ISO-Line program is the recently introduced CERMET range. These inserts offer good surface finish, long tool life and heat resistances when machining at high speeds. The FN-X8°and ENP-KX ground inserts offering excellent results for finishing, whilst the EN-KM range of sintered inserts offers high performance on bigger cuts. The ISO-Line Cermet inserts can be used in conjunction with Applitec’s JET-Line HP through coolant holders.
Applitec PRO-Line - A New generation of insert tooling for Sliding Head machines
Applitec Swiss Tooling based in Moutier, Switzerland have pioneered the twin screw insert program for sliding head machines for many years, and continue to look to new ways of enhancing the performance and cost effectiveness of their tools. The TOP-Line programme still remains the best selling line from Applitec with its diversity, performance and quality. That said, many customers still look to the insert cost. The ECO-Line single screw Insert solution has met those cost down needs but many users prefer a twin screw clamping solution for the rigidity. The PRO-line is set to offer the best of both lines.. PROductivity and PROfitability.
SDK Adaptive Guide Bushes
For some time now, users have turned to the adaptive guide bush solution to overcome bar diameter variation. And, quite successful it has been too, except.. sometimes the standard three shell bush just doesn’t quite do it! Torsion or twisting can affect concentricity, and tight tolerances can be hard to achieve. The SDK and SSK bushes have been developed to overcome these problems. No springs, or retaining clips to lose, these one piece bushes are more rigid, more accurate and less prone to swarf ingress. Available in ‘AMPCO’ bronze which can be re-bored to a new diameter if required, coated steel, or even carbide lined.
VLF Coatings for Guide Bushes
Floyd are now able to offer Very Low Friction coatings to enhance the performance of carbide lined bushes. This service which is offered with a short lead time will be of interest to customers who experience problems with difficult materials like titanium etc. which can pick up in the bore during production that can lead to the bar seizing.
New FLO-Tool Star Products
A new offset shank option has been added to the FLO-Tool range of height adjustable back working tools for the SW20 machine. The holder gives the user the ability to use standard back end working insert holders in positions T21 to T24 without interfering with the holders in positions T25 – T28.
FLO-Tool Backworking Tools for Applitec
Back working tools are common place now on many sliding head machines, and the FLO-Tool range of easy setting, height adjustable tools is further enhanced with insert holders for the ECO-Line and TOP-Line inserts from Applitec. These holders give increased capability and machining solutions for back end working.
Toodle Spindle

The Mikron Tool Company recently launched SIX new products at the recent AMB show in Stuttgart. These new through coolant designs have larger coolant chambers that allow better flow at lower pressures. Utilis Multidec-Lube Through Coolant Wedges
This alternative solution to HP through coolant insert holders, offers a simple solution that will appeal to some clients. The coolant wedges remain ‘plumbed in’ on the platen via the clamping wedge. Through coolant insert holders are no longer required! The pre-set capability of the system allows for the easy removal in the holder for insert changes.
Alesa Delta Milling Cutters
