HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE SHOW

As a lot of you are aware last year we celebrated 25 years in service. While at the show Sigmund Grimm presented Richard with a gift on behalf of Hommel and Keller. This statue was to mark 25 years of business together, which Richard was both surprised and delighted to receive.
Zeus Knurling and Marking Tools
On the corner of our stand we presented our range of Zeus knurling and marking tools, produced by Hommel & Keller in Germany. This proved to be very successful! Knurling can still be an issue for many component manufacturers and as we have many different knurling solutions in the Zeus range we were able to help.
Schwanog Form ToolsMany of our visitors looking at the various knurling tools were not aware that on modern CNC machines, there is the option to produce splines/knurls using a Schwanog form tool. This solution uses a combination of rapid feed to cut the form and C-axis to increment the tooth formed. The advantage of this technique is that the number of teeth produced is consistent and the forms are produced to a high accuracy.

Guide Bushes
CNC sliding head machine tool users were also very interested in the different guide bush options now available. We now offer the SB (Bronze) and BL (Coated) guide bushes which are ideal for materials that can cause difficult materials to seize in the bush. For users of Adaptive Guide Bush systems, the SDK version also proved for interesting as the design offers improved accuracy and prevents swarf ingress in the housing.

Applitec IN-Line Boring Tool Program
The boring tool program introduced last year by Applitec continues to draw interest, with an enhanced range of inserts and additional holders including a hydraulic clamping holder that offers excellent vibration free clamping, plus the NEW BHS holder with ‘Coolant Management’ that offers three coolant delivery options that can help maximise cooling and swarf removal.
Mowidec Spindle Centering SystemThe Mowidec-TT made its MACH debut two years ago; however its popularity continues to grow as MACH 2016 proved. The innovative spindle centring system enables the user to perfectly centre tools on the main or counter spindles of turning centres to improve accuracy, performance and tool life with a simple and fast method. With the Mowidec-TT, centring is conducted without any complicated equipment or training and is so simple that users start centring systematically, thereby benefiting from enhanced tool life and productivity. These benefits were immediately noted by show visitors.
